Find Out How To Play Electric Guitar Faster No comments yet

Let me start out by just stating that this information is about playing guitar faster, not learning guitar faster. Being able to play really fast occasionally will come naturally but a majority of guitar players have got to really work on it. And the fact is that some of the exercise routines you need to do to play extremely fast are always incredibly dull.

You will not play guitar fast simply by grabbing a guitar and attempting to play fast. You just find yourself playing a variety of nonsense and people will be looking at you funny. I have seen it happen.

The secret to be able to play guitar fast requires you to know how to properly practice two things: picking in between guitar strings coupled with alternating picking. Alternating picking simply means that you pick down upon 1 note and then pick moving upward to play the next. Unless you do this you will not ever play fast.

The third part of the puzzle would be to understand how to pick using as little effort and movement as you possibly can. Merely by picking with minor effort and almost no motion your guitar pick ends up a whole lot closer to our next guitar string right after the picking motion and you can play that note that much faster. Here is where I observe quite a number of guitar players making a mistake. They think that to play guitar more rapidly you are required to play it much harder. This could not be more wrong.

For those who sincerely want to learn to play guitar very fast you need to know the way to play guitar slowly and deliberate before anything else. Absolutely no excessive motion, a gentle touch on the guitar pick, and you also have got to hit each guitar string using the same degree of force each time. When you’ve really mastered playing super fast it gets nearly effortless to pull off.

Here are several exercise routines to get you up and running.

Your very first exercise will be to work on picking in between guitar strings. You will play one guitar string by picking straight down or upward and after that strike the following guitar string the opposite way. So that your pick is always striking: down, up, down, up etc. The actual training is to play each of these guitar string combinations repeatedly. The numbers represent each guitar string.

Towards the purposes of this specific exercise I ordinarily denote the lower E string as number one and in addition the higher E as number six, even though the truth is you can actually in the same way easily practice it the opposite way. So now to the left hand. There are 2 tricks to teaching yourself to play fast with the left hand: utilizing your pinky and only lifting your fingertips as far off the fretboard as you’ve got to. Lots of guitar players don’t ever learn to really make full use of their pinkies. They will certainly rarely turn out to be able to play as quickly as individuals that do. It doesn’t matter what you could be playing, even if you’re solely fingering guitar chords begin the practice of using your pinky whenever you can.

1-2-3-4, 1-2-4-3, 1-3-2-4,1-3-, 1-4-2-3, 1-4-3-2, 2-1-3-4, 2-1-4-3, 2-3-4-1, 2-4-1-3, 2-4-3-1, 3-1-2-4, 3-1-4-2, 3-2-1-4, 3-2-4-1, 3-4-1-2, 3-4-2-1, 4-1-2-3, 4-1-3-2, 4-2-1-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-1-2, 4-3-2-1

Practice every one of these drills. Should you have access to a metronome I strongly suggest that you practice with one, jotting down every single time the fastest tempo where you correctly performed the exercise. Gradually improve your speed. I promise that if you stick to those drills for 2 weeks in a row just like I have stated, you’ll end up having the ability to play much faster than you ever imagined. Simply by training like this there is no limit to the tempo at which it will be possible to play.
